Changes

No, this isn’t a post about menopause, although check back next week, because it’s not like we all don’t know what’s around the corner!

This is a post about my daughter telling me that she does not want me to blog about her any more and my thinking that I should respect it.

She read a post that I wrote about her and she said she didn’t appreciate it or the comments (so technically  everything is your fault) and although I could go back and forth on the merits of her position versus my moral rights to write about my life and the PEOPLE I BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD, I am going to back off (for now) and respect her privacy, acknowledging that her life belongs to her and her Facebook timeline. Unless she does something that I can’t resist writing about, obviously.

In light of this blogging void that needs to be filled, I emailed Husbandrinka to let him know that we’re going to need to get another baby. He was on a business trip in San Francisco (Husbandrinka, not my future baby), so I told him to keep an eye out for any babies. I’m not picky, although I’d prefer if they were less baby and more in that cute toddler stage where they do a lot of adorably bloggable things and are also potty trained. Husbandrinka thought that this was my way of making the “getting another cat option” seem more appealing and he let me know that it would not work. (We’ll see about that.)

But then I started thinking. Maybe the another child angle was more trouble than it was worth. No offense to children. Maybe I already have everything I need right here. Maybe I can “work with what I got.” It worked for Sofia Vergara. Except instead of a perfect body and face, I have Husbandrinka.

Husbandrinka in NYC? What do you think?

_______________

And speaking of “what do you think” please check out my Conversation post on Babble today about teens drinking at home and what your take on it is. Please leave a comment with your thoughts there. Not all your thoughts, obviously, just about teens drinking in the safety of the home.

Oh, PLEASE get another baby. Not to be selfish or anything, but I would so enjoy reading your experience with this. And that’s what’s really important, isn’t it? (And p.s., I would like it better than a cat. Not that it’s all about me, or anything.)

I’m with Dusty Earth Mother, the new baby thing is the correct answer. And it is all about her. (About Dusty Earth Mother, not the new baby.)

Good call, Lisa. Not that I was checking to see if you mentioned me, or anything.

Ah! I just read the post which prompted her to take that stance. I don’t blame her ‘coz I’m sure she felt pretty guilty after that episode and now it’s written down for posterity! You’re safer with toddlers…they can’t even communicate with the lawyers!

I have two boys, a smartass 3 1/2-year old who tells me no less than a dozen times a day how much he hates me, and a 5-month old who can never decide if he’s hungry or not. Pick one, and he’s yours.

‘get another baby’. I laughed hard.

If your son drops out too, you’re going to have to start coupon blogging.

Does this mean we’ll be reading more about mama and papa? If yes, that is good, if no then get another baby.
