Excuse Me

by Marinka on October 5, 2008

but I was just on a train with two seven year old boys, who played Pokemon for an hour and a half and whenever they called the same Pokemon at the same time, they’d scream, “JINX!” and then one kid would say, “The Jinx machine is out of order, kiss my butt and give me a quarter!” and my son would say, “I’m sorry, that’s a lie. I did not kiss your butt, the quarter is not yours, it belongs to I!” And then my friend (and a mom of one of the 7 year old’s) asked, “Who is Jesus?” and one kid said, “Sort of like a God” and the other one said, “A really nice guy. On a post.”

Oy to the vey.

I often wonder how the fires of hell will burn around me for my Sunday night religion classes. Yes, yes. Jesus is a nice guy on a post. Sounds like something I would say.

I should probably take this religion teacher thing more seriously and stop trying to get a laugh – especially considering my students DO NOT LAUGH at my jokes.

This… “A really nice guy. On a post.” is hilarious.

Seriously, thank you for that laugh.

I agree with mama bird – that was hilarious. The things that kids say amaze me.

I can relate. Pokemon are going to be REALLY real in 4 years, did you know? It’s true. My 9 year old read it on the Internet.

I once listened to 2 straight hours of “dragon this and dragon that and cool dragons” from a friend’s son, at which point I stepped outside to yell into the garage “I hope you know that Dragons are YOUR territory from here on out, I don’t care about them enough to listen to any more of this crap.”

I have no comment other than to say I would have died of laughter trying to keep my huge outburst of laughter inside. Oy vey is right!
