Texts From Son

by Marinka on August 9, 2012

Young Ladrinka is at the dacha this week, living the life with Mama and Papa, and sending me texts on an as-needed basis.

Yesterday, the need was acute:

On the one hand I am super proud that he doesn’t know what a Kardashian is, on the other hand, I voice my disapproval of those motherfucking words. This is what Perfect Parenting ™ looks like. You should probably be taking notes.

As you can see, it’s important to stay strong. And draw the line. Even if it’s in the sand. This Parenting by Text ™ (pending) is awesome. And relaxing, if done from a spa.

Sometimes it hits a snag, though. Again, observe how strong I’m staying. Strong as bull.

But also know when to compromise. (Hint: when it’s time for your manicure and you can’t text anymore.) Also, it’s hard to type yep on the phone, apparently.

My god they don’t change at all do they? These negotiation tactics are identical to my two-year-old daughter.

Oh I love this. I love parenting in 2012. Just think of the smoke signals that we had to send our parents when we were at KMart buying our 45s.

I’m impressed not only that he doesn’t know what a Kardashian is, but also that he asks before getting songs.

Well, my girls are too young for phones and texting yet BUT I would imagine young Ladrinka’s “yerp” and relentless “Why” is no comparison to my girls and their whining and begging in person. At least your ears are not bleeding. Lucky lady!LOL

So how many songs did he end up getting?
Was the negotiation as good as this one?

Why didn’t I think to trademark perfect parenting?
I am so glad my kids don’t have phones yet.

This will continue until he learns about Bitorrent. Then he’ll pirate whole albums full of N and F

Thank you for the laugh! (I needed it after searching fruitlessly for my daughter’s invisalign trays.)

I am so proud to know a perfect parent. You have so much to teach.

See if he’ll settle for one of those teeny bop remixes where they change the words “have some really great sex” to “send some really great texts.”

That’s what we do. And cringe.

LOL. I really hope more texts from Young Ladrinka are coming especially because your Parenting By Text is my new go to parenting method. Luckily my kids don’t text yet!

Ok, I’m still trying to figure out what n is.
I think I’ve got f, sh and b…I may lead a sheltered life.
