Maybe I Should Look Into This Tiger Mom Business

by Marinka on February 7, 2011

Marinka’s Daughter: Mommy, do you want to hear something funny?

Marinka: Of course! Humor is my life.

Daughter: I had a math test today and I totally didn’t study for it.

Marinka: Well, I hope you’ll study for your vocabulary test, because I’m not sure you know what funny means.

And because we are now in blog sweeps, I am adding a family photo to warm your hearts!

That's me sitting on Papa's lap. And Mama is in white, because she is pure. I think they're signing papers to sell me to those other people. But their check bounced.

Check out The Mouthy Housewives today. Rebecca, who wrote the best ad ever for Craigslist, is giving advice!

I’m not sure what a blog sweep is, but I think I may like it.

Right now in the very pit of my stomach I remember the “isn’t this funny, shit now I’m in trouble” moment.

Mine had to do with cleaning the cat box and Kristalnacht, and no I don’t want to go into it.

How did she do? And the horrible reinforcement will come when she probably does really well. I love it when our kids say something that makes your jaw drop or your shoulders tense and they act like, “Hey no big deal” and you’re thinking, “you’re going to be living with me forever, aren’t you?”

You are a mother after my own heart. Parenting by sarcasm. It’s been incredibly unsuccessful for me so i would love to see how it works out with you. hahaha…yeah, once my son said he was going to “wing it” about a test. The next day we said, “you should study” and he said “i already wung it!”

hahaha

What a wonderful picture.

I’d like to see more of these, they have such a story behind them, you can feel it.

not sure what a blog sweep is either, but I love the picture. I totally need to scan some old family photos, which are all in Russia, of course

While I like the picture and mama is certainly pure in white I think I would’ve been more moved by orphans or puppies…or better yet, orphaned puppies. Orphaned puppies being helped out of a crack addiction by Dr. Drew, yes that’s it, then you’d totally take sweeps!
