What Does This Email Say To You?

by Marinka on April 6, 2011

* * *

Because to me it says, give me your father’s cell phone number, because my father died this afternoon and in my grief, any father will do.

Apparently, that’s not what Husbandrinka meant. To translate from Husbandrinka to English, he meant that he wanted my father’s cell phone number, because his CELL PHONE died and therefore he didn’t have access to his contact list.

It’s..different.

A lot less dramatic, you might say, which is what the paramedics mentioned when they tried to restart my heart.

That’s probably why Hallmark doesn’t make cards for dead cell phones.

I’m not sure how I’ll ever be able to forgive Husbandrinka for this. Maybe if he gets me a Mini Blizzard. What? Oh! Yes, Dairy Queen is having a great contest right now, where you can win a 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman car just by submitting a video of yourself treating someone to a Mini Blizzard. You could probably tear it out of their hands as soon as the cameras stop running and eat it yourself. Six people are going to win a car, so it may as well be you, right?

Please see video below for more details. And thank you Dairy Queen for sponsoring this post!

Dammit. I just bought a Mini Countryman. Buying someone a Mini Blizzard would have been way cheaper. I’m not kidding by the way. It’s red with black racing stripes and we’re very excited. The stork arrives Friday. Cute giveaway, and nice segue 😉

You’d need those paddles on your chest permanently if married to my husband. He leaves garbled messages that always seem in distress.

Blizzards are all 5 good groups from my youth.

It literally made me laugh out loud! I must speak husbandrinka, because I understood his meaning immediately, but I can see how it could be misconstrued. It also proved, once again, that you are the QUEEN of comedy. Thanks for the laughs on this morning when I oh-so-badly needed them! Sick kids are NOT fun!

I don’t want a new car, since I just bought one. I just want a summer supply of DQ Skor blizzards! And no mini’s, either. The bigger the better. Always, the bigger the better. 😉

I have had major panic attacks over phone calls/dropped calls/unanswered calls with my parents. For instance, if my mom doesn’t answer her cell phone a crime scene from Criminal Minds plays in my head. If she is not where she says she’s going to be at at specific time, I’ll call everyone we know and try to track her down. I panic like you wouldn’t believe!

My husband LOVES Blizzards, and he’s dying for a Countryman (we have a Cooper S). I may have to actually do this… maybe.

My condolences to Husbadrinka for his loss of the phone. Are you planning to bury it in the backyard?
I will go and treat my little blizzard to DQ. Picture of a cute kid covered in icy treat should win him a mini, right? Then maybe he can use his college found for his education and not transportation.

Did you also think he was vision impaired?

That subject line indicates he might want to know what TYPE of cell phone your father has…probably because Husbandrinka’s died and he wants to steal your father’s cell phone. Warn your father immediately.

Do they even have DQ in the big city in which you live?

Sadly in L.A., I’ve seen lots of queens, but no Dairy Queens.

I am so glad no one died and everyone is eating mini blizzards and driving in mini coopers.

I am so sorry for Husbandrinka’s loss. But really nice segue into DQ, I must say.

So to recap, no one is dead and you are getting ice cream? That’s a good day in my book.
