Guess What?

by Marinka on November 24, 2008

Today I am guest blogging at The Norwindians because apparently it’s been like twelve minutes since Kirsten’s last break and she’s on another vacation. Nice, right?

You may know Kirsten as Mama Ginger Tree, but she started a new blog, The Norwindians, which is a combination of her Norwegian heritage and her husband’s East Indian one. I don’t suppose that it will enhance anyone’s admiration of me to let you know that until I read her explanation I thought that Norwindian was a way of saying “Norwegian” with a California accent, right?

Anyway, I love Kirsten and her blog, so if you haven’t already, check it out. And take a look at her picture and tell me if you believe for one second that she wasn’t one of the beautiful-popular kids in high school.

I’m closing comments here, so please leave a comment over there. Otherwise I’ll know that you hate me.

Guess What?

by Marinka on September 29, 2008

Wonderful Meghan from A Mom Two Boys asked me to do a guest post on her blog, which conveniently spared me the humiliation of having to beg her for that chance.

And then I immediately got blog writer’s block. It was so bad, that I turned to my husband for wisdom.

And he was all like, “you still have a blog?” and I’m pretty sure that he rolled his eyes.

So, I had to come up with an idea all on my own. Which I don’t recommend under normal circumstances. Please check out my post here!

Marinka – in your truly multitalentedness you don’t speak in tongues? and you’re not a Poet Laureate?
I am so disappointed.

Guess What?

by Marinka on August 5, 2008

You know how some people say “guess what?” and you say, “what?” and they immediately tell you? What is that all about? Why don’t they just come out and say what they want to say and spare you the foreplay? And does anyone ever bother guessing anymore?

“You won the lottery? No? Hmm, you impregnated Angelina Jolie? No? Am I at least close? Was I warmer with the lottery or with Angelina?”

In my opinion, the less prefacing the better. Which leads me to my question–guess what? Give up? Super duper give up and swear that I am the Queen of Guess What and you are the Vice Queen in Waiting with No Hope of Becoming Queen?

Anyway, since you give up, I’ll tell you.

Today, I am guest blogging at Citizen of the Month. Come see me there! And don’t be intimidated by my topic–I make it accessible! Click here! Why are you still reading this? Click!

What kind of guest are you? Don’t you realize the whole idea of getting guest bloggers is so they do a mediocre job, so people are clamoring for me to come back. You’re not supposed to be more entertaining than the host.

Besides “Guess what” the kids frequently also do “Can I ask you a question?” I always want to say “No, not until you learn how to pick a good bottle of wine, uncork it, and pour a large glass for Mommy.”

On my way to your other post now.
